This castle is located at the end of the Pharos maximum west of Alexandria and constructed in place of the old lighthouse of Alexandria which was destroyed in 702 AH after the devastating earthquake that occurred during the reign of Sultan al-Nasir Muhammed . has begun Sultan aal-Ashraf Abu AL-Nasr Bey build this castle in the year 881 AH and finished built in 885 AH
